Accessibility Statement
General Contractor Portland wants this site to work for every visitor, screen reader, magnifier and keyboard users among them, both for reading and for sending a request. Our target is Level AA of WCAG 2.1, and pages are checked against it each time they change.
When the estimate quiz, a town map or another page blocks you, email [email protected] or phone us, and we will fix what we can. Anything the forms collect, a call can collect too, including the town, the project and a time for a visit.
This statement took effect on October 28, 2026, and was last revised that day.
Planning a house, an addition or a remodel is hard enough without a website that gets in the way. This statement covers the standard we hold our pages to, the features already built in, the weak spots we know about and how to report a problem.
Our Approach
We treat access as part of building every page, from the first version to each update. Problems we catch ourselves, or that visitors point out, stay open on our list until they are solved.
The Guidelines We Build To
Our target is WCAG 2.1, the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, at Level AA. We stop short of claiming we meet it everywhere, because no audit finds every problem, but the guidelines drive our page layouts, our color choices and our code.
What Is in Place
- A logical heading order on each page, and links worded so you know where they go
- Alt text wherever a photo carries meaning, a visible label for every contact-form field, and quiz photo cards built as real checkboxes
- Contrast that meets Level AA, a consent window you can work entirely from the keyboard, and motion that stops when your system asks for less of it
Known Gaps
Screen readers and keyboard-only navigation handle our interactive town maps poorly. Each map pin has a matching text link on that page, so the map is never the only way to find a town.
The contact page's link to Google Maps, where present, brings Google's own accessibility record with it. The same page shows our phone number and office address in plain type, and this page gives our email address.
Reporting a Barrier
Name the page where you got stuck and the step that failed. Write to [email protected] or call the number in the footer, and we will find the cause and start on a repair.
Calling Instead of Using a Form
When a form refuses to work, your project need not wait, since a phone call can start an estimate request too. Give us the town and a description of the project, and we can book a walk of the property before you hang up.
General Contractor Portland is a Legacy Construction company, and Legacy Construction treats a request the same way whether it comes by form, email or phone.
